Problem
A leading automotive sensor manufacturer was facing quality and throughput issues in its injection molding operations. The application was a process to load terminals and insert parts into an injection mold for an insert molding operation with extremely tight tolerances and short cycle rates. The existing manual process was causing significant quality and throughput issues.
Lösung
Dane Systems provided the customer a flexible automation system to load the molds and then unload and separate the finished goods. Using an Adept 550 Robot and multiple tool grippers the cell provided and verified proper placement of the mold into the machine with consistent cycle time results.
The new automation system was so successful in increasing quality and throughput that the customer modified the system to fit several additional mold stations within the plant.
